Conference Presentation Proposal Form

This conference will be streamed virtually for those who cannot attend in person. It is preferred that all presenters be present on site.

Our theme for the 2026 conference is Gems of Knowledge

We will gather in Arkansas, sometimes called the Diamond State, to share the many facets of Koha. What gems of knowledge can you share? How has Koha enabled you and your library to meet and exceed the needs of your patrons and community?

Here are some suggestions for meaningful presentation topics:

Koha in the library: best practices, tips, hacks, grievances, etc.
Issues with materials vendors and acquisitions, post Baker & Taylor.
Implementing a “new to you” feature: Rolling out a Koha feature that already existed.
Notice delivery: Implementing SMS on a budget.
Notice delivery: Improving notices with html and template toolkit.
The development process: How it works, how to partner with other libraries for results.
The importance of conversation: How we find middle ground when developers and users’ opinions differ.
Improving user experience or accessibility.
Consortia tips & tricks: problem solving on a large scale.
Fostering innovation, inclusion, and collaboration in the community.

These are only suggestions to inspire your ideas. What do you think your Koha colleagues would like to learn?

Proposals are due by April 24, 2026. You will be notified whether your proposal has been accepted no later than May 15, 2026.

Presentation Information

Presentation sessions will each be 45 minutes in length. Presentations should include 40 minutes of content and plan for 5 minutes of questions.

Available technology will include: a laptop with an internet connection and web browser, a projector and screen connected to that laptop, and a microphone. Please contact info@koha-us.org before submitting your proposal if you will require additional technology.

Depending on the amount of accepted proposals some presentations may be asked to be condensed into a "lightning session" that would be 5 - 10 minutes. All presenters will be contacted with a time slot for them to officially accept or decline.
